IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THE BARRIERS TO CHARACTER BUILDING, CAREER BUILDING AND PERSONALITY BUILDING

OUR STUDENTS AND MOST PARENTS ALSO SEEM TO BE BLINDLY FOLLOWING THE DECADES-OLD TRADITION OF CAREER AND PERSONALITY BUILDING. IN THE CURRENT CONTEXT, IT IS NECESSARY TO RE-EXAMINE ALL THESE ATTITUDES.

7. ‘THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT OUR CHILDREN SHOULE BE LIKE.’

Not all parents need to be psychologists, it is not also possible, but there are some basic and natural things they need to remember. One of them is that no two children on this earth can be the same or identical, not even twins. Even then, parents want their children should be genius or atleast intelligent. Parents should understand the matter of intelligence. Of all the children in the world, only five percent are geniuses. 20% of children are intelligent, that is, 25% of naturally intelligent children. This means that the vast majority of 75% of children are average or below average or slow-learners or even mentally retarded. Parents need to remember that this measure of intelligence is not ‘full and final’. There is always flexibility in this by nature, but parents insist that their children be like very intelligent and resilient children, just like that. For years, they have been obsessed with the idea that "our children should be like that."

The attitude of parents towards the average and below average children which are 75% is as follows:

(a) Average or slow-learners children should not be treated by the yard-sticks of intelligent children just to compete.

(b) Human intelligence can also be upgraded like computer or smartphone intelligence, i.e. it can be improved.

(c) Improving computer intelligence requires software and patience is required to upgrade the human mind. No machine recognizes software called 'patience', only the human brain is aware of it.

(d) The machine can be labeled as 'it is useless', but not on the human mind because it is not the most efficient and extensive machine created by man. It is created by Almighty Allah.

(e) In the last book, children are called a ‘test’. However, the real test is how hard parents work on average or dull-minded children. Parents who want to escape this ordeal are always wailing: "Oh God, what kind of children have you given us, it's not very intelligent." However, parents who are (i) grateful for the children that God has given them (ii) work hard for them and (iii) are very patient are more likely to treat their average children than seemingly successful children.

8. 'RAT RACE'

To understand the impediment to the educational progress of Muslims in today's India, which is called 'Bheed Chaal' or 'Traditional Babu', or even ‘rate-race’, you have to visit from Konkan to Kerala from the west coast of the country. The whole area fell victim to the Gulf job giants four decades ago and then for the Merchant Navy or shipping jobs. From the government's point of view, the area looks 'literate', but the fact is that more than one generation has been cut off from higher education in these areas. The Gulf dinars and dirhams and the merchant navy dollars have brought some spectacular prosperity to the region but alienated the younger generation from modern education. The extravagance of large bungalows and weddings in villages and hamlets has never been a sign of real progress. Unfortunately, a hollow society is forming here. For a long time in this area it was called 'Visa' career. Some uncles used to send ‘visit visas’ and students would throw away their school bags and fall in love with Gulf. Then no one asks each other what they would do there because they all did the same thing, that is, any work for one and a half thousand dirhams and free accommodation in the labor camp! If now elections are held today in these Gulf countries and these non-resident Indians have the right to vote, in those countries a person from Kochi, Kollam and Kasargod would be elected as Prime Minister and a person from Chiplun, Furus and Kalusta should be elected the Deputy Prime Minister. !

This is a fact of our community and of those areas where there is an illusion that the literacy rate is very good. Coming from these areas, even in Muslim countries, our community is only enslaving. This is true of the Gulf countries which have abolished the 'free visa' system and now require at least an SSC pass for almost all types of even labour work.

Now, as far as Merchant Navy jobs are concerned, it is still a craze, even though thousands of young people are wandering around making CDCs. Family life is crumbling, but traditional baboos are embracing the profession. The mantra that there is no need to study after SSC is also inculcated in millions of our homes on the Indian West Coast throughout schooling. After completing 18 years of age, CDC has to being made and they board the ship. The feeling of deprivation from higher and modern education is disappearing in the glare of the dollar while many of these millions of young people could have become scientists and many even research scholars!
